UF Drone Registration

The FAA requires that each aircraft be registered and that the registration number be marked on the aircraft. The FAA has implemented a greatly simplified process to register unmanned aircraft online. This process takes only a few minutes and a registration number will be provided immediately. The make, model, and serial number information are all that is needed to complete this process. After the registration number is obtained the aircraft must be marked. For additional information refer to the FAA Website:

https://www.faa.gov/uas

The FAA registration information is required during initial EH&S registration.

UF Affiliated Drone Flight Registration

Faculty/staff, students, vendors, and 3rd-party entities that wish to use UAS on UF spaces must be FAA Part 107 licensed as Remote Pilots. Registration with both the FAA and EH&S is required. Prior to any flights, an online request with a flight plan must be submitted. Once the flight request/plan has been reviewed, a permit for the flight can be issued. Currently, there are no provisions for recreational flying on our main campus due to the location of nearby hospitals and airports with significant air traffic.

You must have submitted your pilot registration and have registered at least 1 (one) aircraft before submitting a flight request. (*UF EHS is working on re-registering credentials from previous submissions. If you attempt to fill out a flight request and cannot select a pilot or aircraft, please re-register with the updated forms below)
