Contact With Human Blood or (OPIM)

Will the individual have contact with human blood or other potentially infectious material?

The University of Florida’s Bloodborne Pathogen Program requires participation by all employees and non-employees (students, volunteers, affiliates, etc.) who have occupational exposure to bloodborne pathogens. Non-employees may be required to provide HBV vaccination records prior to their acceptance into a project or program. Full program details are available on the UF EH&S Bloodborne Pathogens page.

Health Assessment & Program Requirements

1. Training: UF’s Bloodborne Pathogen program requires training for individuals with reasonably anticipated exposure to bloodborne pathogens (BBP). This training covers prevention and control and must occur upon initial assignment and annually thereafter:
   • EHS850C: Clinical
   • EHS850G: General
   • EHS850D: Dental
