Non-UF/Vendor UAS Procedures
Non-UF personnel and Vendors that wish to use UAS on any UF campus or for any UF Department must be FAA Part 107 licensed as Remote Pilots. Registration for both the FAA and EH&S is required. Prior to any flights an online request with a flight plan must be submitted. Once the flight request / plan has been reviewed a permit for the flight can be issued. Requirements also include that the University of Florida be named as an additional insured on the operator’s policy with a limit of 1,000,000.00.
Pilot Requirements
- FAA Part 107 License
- EH&S Initial Pilot and Aircraft Registration for Non-UF and Vendors (One aircraft can be added with initial pilot registration).
Aircraft Registration
- Initial online registration with FAA
- EH&S Registration for an Additional Aircraft for Non-UF and Vendors (must have already registered pilot information with EH&S)
