  • Chemical hazardous waste can be generated as a result of research, educational activities, facilities maintenance or through construction or renovation of new or existing UF buildings. Regardless of origin, chemical hazardous waste generated by or on behalf of the University of Florida must be managed according to UF procedures and policies. UF procedures and policies are based on applicable state and federal waste regulations. Successful management of chemical hazardous waste depends on: 1) making an appropriate waste determination; 2) following UF waste accumulation procedures and ultimately disposing of it through UF Environmental Health & Safety.
