The University of Florida
Inclusion in the Medical Monitoring Program for Pesticide Users focuses on the type, amount and frequency of pesticide use by an employee at the University of Florida. Pesticide users covered under this program shall have baseline and annual blood tests as outlined in the policy.
Department and research center staff in the personnel and safety areas work closely together to identify positions for inclusion in this program. The department must request medical clearance for individuals before they begin work with any included pesticides. Once an individual is initially cleared, the department will request medical review on an annual basis.
Employees in the Gainesville area should go to the Student Health Care Center's laboratory for the blood draw. Employees outside the Gainesville area should go to a local provider for the blood draw. Currently, all blood is routed to Quest Diagnostics for analysis. Requisition forms to be used off-campus may be obtained from UF's Environmental Health and Safety by calling 1-352-392-1591 or Suncom 622-1591.
All results are reviewed by UF's Student Health Care Center in Gainesville.
